what a shame. I stumbled across a mention by Roger Linn (y'know ... LinnDrum)
http://remixmag.com/more_stuff/roger_linn/
saw the video's on the front page and thought "you beauty! someone has got it right"
the buttons: who cares about Keyboard keys - piano accordions have buttons.
motion sensors: absolutely brilliant for pitch and tonal changes at the very least and only limited by one's imagination...
I would have bought one straight away if it was available, spend day and night getting good at pushing it to it's limits, used it on stage and when ready, recorded with it.
it was the expressiveness that was possible without wind synths (I can't blow) or synths (joysticks and ribbon controllers are a good start but I can't play piano keys for nutz)
oh well...
I'll trawl thru the archives to see what I can get out of such a brilliant set of ideas - perhaps the notation, perhaps there are blueprints to be had...
... but I can't help thinking ...
ever heard of a Chumby? the anti-iPod? it's hardware is (in theory open-sourced)...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chumby
... then there's the Wii game controllers. motion sensors built in: it would give Guitar Hero a run for it's money.
I just *knew* I should have bought a pair of midi "air drums" when they existed during the '80's...
anyone suggest how someone can belatedly jump on the bandwagon?
many thanks

I rarely check this forum, but chanced in. Just in case you have not found my site, where we are carrying on the development of the Thummer's generic relative, in the form of the jammer. see: http://musicscienceguy.vox.com Progress is being made. It's not too late - it's early. Ken Rushton
